Yr Wyddfa Snowdon Ultra ® 50 & 100 Mile is a navigation-focused mountain ultramarathon held from Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park. The event offers two distance options — a 50 mile (approx. 80 km) and a 100 mile (approx. 160–163 km) route — and is presented by GB Ultras as a self-navigation challenge across the Snowdonia Slate Trail and high mountain terrain. The course highlights include sections past Swallow Falls, ascents towards Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon summit, Heather Terrace on Tryfan and the Glyderau, and lake-side passages such as Llyn Idwal and Llyn Crafnant.
The 100 mile option is navigation- and checkpoint-focused with live GPS tracking, 11 checkpoints and a bespoke finisher BUCKLE, while both distances earn UTMB and ITRA index points as indicated by the organiser. Finishers receive tiered medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and bespoke trophies for top placings, and entries are managed by application as stated on the official GB Ultras pages. Competitors should expect significant elevation gain (approx. 3,254 m for the 50 mile and approx. 5,788 m for the 100 mile) and should consult the GB Ultras event pages for full entry and logistical details.
