Yr Wyddfa Ultra 50 (also marketed as Snowdon Ultra 50) is an established mountain ultra organised by GB Ultras in Snowdonia Eryri, based in Betws-y-Coed. The 2026 race is the 8th edition and is scheduled to start on Saturday 5 September 2026 from Cae Llan / Betws-y-Coed Village Green. The event is navigation-focused and awarded UTMB/ITRA mountain points, with live online GPS tracking provided for competitors and supporters.
The course follows high mountain trails and the Snowdonia Slate Trail across classic peaks and lakeside sections, presenting sustained ascent and technical terrain; organiser materials list ascent figures of c.3,254 m while some sections also reference c.2,800 m, so entrants should check the final athlete information. Mandatory mountain kit, tracker provision at registration, checkpoint support and strict cut-off times are enforced to manage safety in remote terrain. The event offers finish medals and bespoke trophies for top finishers, live results, GPX downloads and partner accommodation options to support competitors and crews.
