The Snowdonia Half Marathon (Welsh: Hanner Marathon Eryri) is a scenic but demanding road and mixed-terrain half marathon set in Snowdonia National Park, starting and finishing in the village of Llanrwst. The organiser presents the race as one of the UK’s toughest half marathons, with notable climbs and a well-signed route that visits Trefriw, Llyn Geirionydd and Llyn Crafnant before the steep Forest Hill climb near mile 11. The event is run under Run Wales management and forms part of the Four Castles Series, emphasising a strong local and community atmosphere alongside race-day logistics.
Race day services include a Race HQ for registration and chip pickup, drink stations roughly every three miles plus at the finish, professional first aid cover and on-course marshals, and merchandise and photography available on the day. All finishers are offered a technical T-shirt and a bespoke medal, prizes are presented for top overall and age-category finishers, and organisers explicitly prohibit headphones (except bone-conducting) in line with UK Athletics guidance. Entrants must be aged 17–100 on the day and are advised to follow parking instructions carefully to avoid disrupting the start/finish area.
