Ashton Park School, Blackmoors Lane, Bower Ashton, Bristol BS3 2JL, United Kingdom
The Summer Green Man Ultra 2026 is a self-navigating ultramarathon organised by Every Mile Counts (Go Far Fund) that offers two main distances on the same day: a full 45‑mile loop (GMU45) and a 30‑mile partial loop (GMU30). The principal start/finish hub is Ashton Park School in Bower Ashton, Bristol, with the 30‑mile option starting at The White Horse, Hambrook and converging to finish at Ashton Park School. Both formats use downloadable GPX and written directions, rely on checkpoint sign‑ins and chip timing, and are run in a clockwise direction for the summer edition. Timelord pace groups and staffed checkpoints provide navigation and pacing support while runners remain responsible for mandatory kit and route adherence.
The event introduces competitor tracking from 2026 and retains a distinctive GMU competition structure that rewards finishers with medals and optional event apparel at checkout, plus a cumulative‑time buckle for participants who complete both the Summer and Winter 45‑mile editions in the same year. Entrants must carry mandatory kit items, follow checkpoint procedures and respect the cup‑free policy by bringing a reusable cup. The race is supported by staffed aid stations, finish food and chip timing, with trophies for top finishers and charity entry opportunities linked to the organiser's nominated partner.
