Freiwillige Feuerwehr Maria Schutz / Liechtensteinhaus, Maria Schutz (Semmering), Lower Austria, Austria
The Semmering Adventure Trailrun is an alpine trail-running event held in the Semmering region of the Eastern Alps that brings multiple distances and formats to one day of racing. The event (Semmering Adventure Trailrun) offers short family-friendly routes as well as demanding options up to 28 km and a 6‑hour endurance format, and it is marketed as being only a short drive from Vienna. A distinctive feature is the automatic downhill scoring integrated into select distances and the endurance format, while finish-area gastronomy and finisher goodies add to the on-site experience. The course terrain includes forest trails, alpine ridge sections and steep ascents/descents, giving runners panoramic views from the peaks.
Organised under the Adventure Runs brand (Sportventure OG), the event provides options for timed competition or a more relaxed, untimed adventure and includes dog-friendly categories. Start/finish areas are concentrated in the Maria Schutz / Semmering area with logistics information and participant PDFs published on the organiser website. Registrations are handled online (Sportanmeldung registration portal or via Adventure Runs) and the organiser publishes participant information and dog-specific participation terms as downloadable PDFs. Awards and a Siegererehrung are announced for distances and the event supplies finisher medals, on-site refreshments and other participant perks.
