Saxony Trail in the Ore Mountains

SachsenTrail im Erzgebirge is a three-day trail-running festival based at the Sportpark and Trailcenter Rabenberg, set amid the forests and ridgelines of the Ore Mountains. Runners experience a varied programme that traditionally opens with an uphill prologue on Friday, followed by the main trail distances on Saturday and shorter and family-friendly routes on Sunday. The routes are known for distinctive singletrack and a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere supported by the organiser, venue staff, partners and many volunteers.

The weekend blends competitive racing with a relaxed festival vibe, including a campfire on Saturday evening, a night headlamp test, and yoga and mobility sessions. Distances range from a challenging ultra of around 75 km to mid-distance and beginner-friendly options, with junior races rounding out the programme. Recent editions have welcomed more than 2,300 participants, underlining the event’s popularity and lively finish-line scenes in the heart of the Erzgebirge.
