The Rügenbrücken-Marathon is an annual running and walking festival centred on the Rügenbrücke and the Mahnkesche Wiese in Stralsund. The event, advertised on ruegenmarathon.de as the "Rügenbrücken-Marathon", stages multiple distances for adults, youth and children and highlights a scenic course that crosses the Rügen Bridge and travels via Dänholm, Altefähr, Rambin and the Rügendamm. Participants commonly receive a finisher medal and a time certificate, and timing is handled with a disposable chip where times are recorded. Organisers emphasise the events coastal views and a festival atmosphere with partner stands and a race village.
The 2026 edition is scheduled for 10 October 2026 with registration opening in spring; the event is organised by the Sportbund Hansestadt Stralsund and uses a dedicated event programme, course maps (GPX) and linked logistics pages for travel and parking. Distances include a full marathon, half marathon, 10 km and 6 km running options, separate 10 km and 6 km walking/nordic-walking categories and a 3 km childrens run, all starting and finishing at Mahnkesche Wiese. The organiser and timekeeping partner (Davengo) publish results and participant information on the official site and linked result pages; specific start times for all individual categories are published by the organiser when available.
