RACE ACROSS AUSTRIA — East to West (RACA East to West) is a trans‑national ultracycling challenge that runs from Nickelsdorf in Burgenland to Feldkirch in Vorarlberg. The event offers multiple long‑distance formats including the flagship RACA1000 (1,000 km, ~16,000 m ascent) and RACA500 (500 km, ~9,000 m ascent), and it features both ADVENTURE and RACE start blocks with differing start times and time limits. The format is self‑supported/unsupported ultracycling with staggered starts, GPS tracking and centralised drop‑bag logistics to support riders across the multi‑day route.
Logistics are organised around several base camps (Irdning, Kötschach‑Mauthen and Gerlos) with formal drop‑bag procedures, a finish zone in Feldkirch offering showers and a relaxation area, and an awards ceremony and finisher party following the event. The event includes a sustainability initiative—each start place contributes to tree planting ("RACA Wald") and finishers receive an in‑person certificate.
