RACA1000 East to West is the 1,000 km self-supported ultracycling event run as part of the RACE ACROSS AUSTRIA (RACA) East to West programme. The route crosses Austria from east to west and includes approximately 16,000 m of ascent across classic Alpine passes, combining long distance, high climbing and remote sections to test endurance and route management. The event is organised under a self-supported/unsupported format with regulated start blocks, base camps and logistical support such as a 20-litre drop bag system to assist riders during the course.
The event uses staggered start blocks (ADVENTURE and RACE) with different maximum and minimum target times and a shared finish in Feldkirch where finish-area services and a formal prize ceremony are held. Participants receive finisher certificates and tree-planting certificates as part of the organiser's sustainability programme, and the event is administered through the Race Across Austria information and schedule pages. Communications and core content on the organiser's site are primarily German; the event information and schedule items referenced here are taken from the official RACA East to West pages.
