RACA EAST TO WEST — RACA1000

The RACA EAST TO WEST — RACA1000 is an unsupported ultracycling challenge covering 1,000 kilometres with approximately 16,000 m of ascent across Austria from Nickelsdorf to Feldkirch. Riders tackle high mountain passes and long valley transfers on a self-supported course; the event is presented under the Race Across Austria (RACA) East To West brand and is part of the same festival of rides that also includes a 500 km option. The format is aimed at experienced ultracyclists seeking a multi-day endurance challenge with organised base camps and logistical support points for drop bags.

Two start blocks are offered (ADVENTURE and RACE) with different start days and time limits, and competitors are issued GPS trackers at the start. The event provides 20-litre drop-bag handling, base camps along the route, finisher certificates and memorabilia, and an on-site awards ceremony in Feldkirch. The 2026 edition forms part of the RACA East To West programme and is staged alongside the WUCA European Championship designation for the series.
