Old Town Square, Prague (start/finish)
The Prague International Marathon 2026, presented as "Run Through History," is a two-day running festival that threads a world-class marathon through Prague’s historic centre. The event is awarded the World Athletics Elite Label and showcases a scenic, largely flat course that begins and finishes at Old Town Square, passing landmarks such as Charles Bridge and Wenceslas Square. Organised by RunCzech, the weekend is designed for elite competitors and mass-participation runners alike, with pacers, live music stages and international broadcast coverage enhancing the race atmosphere.
The festival format on 2–3 May 2026 includes family and children’s races, a morning shake-out run, and the flagship 42.195 km marathon on Sunday with a new 08:00 start time for the main distances. Practical runner services are emphasised across the weekend, including a Marathon Expo for number pick-up, on-course refreshment and medical support, baggage storage and post-race facilities. The event also promotes charitable participation and partner-supported extras such as official apparel and photo services.
