The Midnight Mountain Marathon is an evening mountain running festival organised by Howling Events Ltd and held in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) around Talybont on Usk. The event offers multiple race options on Saturday 6 June 2026, including a full marathon, a half marathon and Bergen (weighted-pack) editions, and is promoted as a UTMB qualifier. Runners tackle forest trails, streams, waterfalls and high mountain paths that include the Fan Dance route and an ascent of Pen y Fan, with route marking, safety briefings and mandatory kit requirements emphasised by the organiser.
This is a night‑time challenge with a distinctive midnight finish cut‑off: participants start in the late afternoon/early evening and must complete their course before 00:00. The marathon field is provided with satellite tracking and the event awards trophies and medals for finishers and top places across categories. The organiser provides a race pack and printed course maps, and specialist Bergen rules apply for the weighted‑pack editions alongside the standard safety and cut‑off procedures.
