Aberystwyth 10k (Race for Life) is a seaside 10-kilometre fundraising run organised by Cancer Research UK as part of its Race for Life programme. The course starts and finishes on the Promenade outside The Bandstand on Marine Terrace and for 2026 the historic route is run in reverse, offering a fresh twist for regular participants. The route follows hardstanding pavements and coastal roads with views along the Afon Rheidol and the promenade, and it is a road-closed event to ensure participant and spectator safety. The event is chip-timed for 2026 and designed to welcome runners, joggers and walkers of all abilities.
The day is family-friendly with pre-race warm-ups, an enquiries marquee at the Bandstand and facilities such as refreshments and toilets available on site. Accessibility is emphasised, with the course suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs and supportive measures such as BSL content via QR code and sunflower wristbands at enquiries. Participants are encouraged to fundraise for Cancer Research UK, with a minimum fundraising target and event-specific guidance provided by the organiser. Spectators are welcome and a celebratory picnic atmosphere is expected after the finish.
