The Großglockner Ultra-Trail (GGUT) is a high‑alpine trail running festival centred on the highest peak in Austria, held in the Zell am See‑Kaprun region from 23 to 26 July 2026. The event combines long alpine routes with technical terrain, glacier passages and sustained altitude, offering an iconic loop of roughly 110 km with very large cumulative ascent. The GGUT brand encompasses multiple race distances and children’s events, making the festival suitable for elite ultra runners and community participants alike.
Organised by Zell am See‑Kaprun Tourismus with co‑organiser SALTY Trailrunning, the 2026 edition emphasises mountain safety, mandatory equipment checks and qualification standards for long distances. The flagship GGUT 110 km race starts in Kaprun and awards ITRA points while serving as a Western States 100 qualifier for finishers under the time limit. Participants can expect marked routes, athlete information documents, GPX downloads and regulated race services tailored for high‑mountain conditions.
