The Bergmarathon Bad Harzburg (Bad Harzburger Bergmarathon) is a traditional mountain marathon held at the northern gateway to the Harz. The event features multiple distance options for runners and (Nordic) walkers, including Bambini, Schnupper, Aktiv, Fit, Halbmarathon and Marathon categories, and is noted for its forested routes and short paved sections. The half and full marathon routes rise to scenic viewpoints with an ascent up to 618 metres and afford views towards the Brocken. Start and finish take place on the Galopprennbahn of the Harzburger Rennverein, giving the race a distinctive setting in natural surroundings.
The 19th edition is scheduled for Pfingstsamstag (Saturday) 23 May 2026 and entries are handled via the official registration links on the event site and Raceresult. The race weekend offers family and youth options alongside competitive long-distance formats and walking variants, making it accessible to a wide range of participants. Practical information including registration, timing provider and optional finisher shirt ordering are provided on the official Ausschreibung/registration pages. Entrants should consult the organiser’s information pages for detailed start procedures, cut-offs and bib-collection times prior to the event.
