Universitätsring 1, 1010 Vienna (start/finish at University of Vienna)
The 50.Silvesterlauf-31.12.2026 is the 50th edition of the Wiener Silvesterlauf organised by LCC‑Wien and takes place on a 5.35 km loop around Vienna's Ringstraße. The event, known in German as "Wiener Silvesterlauf", is marketed as a festive year‑end run that welcomes runners, Nordic walkers and many costumed participants, with an inclusive walkers' start block. Timing is by chip (net time) and finishers receive a medal, while prizes are awarded for top finishers and special categories such as heavyweight and best costume.
The race uses the University of Vienna as the start/finish area with changing rooms and storage available on campus, bib collection via the organiser's designated pickup times and chip rental offered at bib pickup. The route is a clockwise 5,350 metre circuit passing major inner‑city landmarks along the Ringstraße, and the event features on‑site refreshments at the start/finish plus a short awards presentation after the race. Participants must register and wear a start number to be timed; the organiser's terms and safety notices apply and dogs, pushchairs and accompanying vehicles are not permitted.
