Elbinselschule / Krieterstraße 2, Elbinsel Wilhelmsburg, Hamburg 21109, Germany
The Int. Wilhelmsburger Insellauf (Internationaler Wilhelmsburger Insellauf) is a long‑running community running festival on Elbinsel Wilhelmsburg, Europe’s largest river island in the city of Hamburg. The course is an attractive loop of asphalt and park/dyke paths that passes allotments and the Dove Elbe before returning to the vibrant finish area at the Elbinselschule / Krieterstraße. Routes combine scenic waterside sections and dyke passages with straightforward road running, making the event appealing to a broad range of abilities.
The 2026 programme features the Elbinsel‑Halbmarathon (officially measured under DLV/AIMS), the 10 km “Inselzehner”, the 5 km “HASPA‑Mühlenlauf”, and a 1 km Schülerlauf for young runners. Every finisher receives the traditional/iconic Eisenbahner finisher medal. On course there are professional timing services, refreshment stations and aid stations; the finish area is family‑friendly with a stage, food & drink stands and a charity‑run cafeteria. Professional photography and prompt publication of results and galleries are provided.
The event is organised by BMS Die Laufgesellschaft mbH in partnership with Eisenbahner‑Sportverein Einigkeit von 1908 e. V. Registration for the 2026 edition is open via the event website; participants are advised to consult the Infos and Streckenplan pages for start procedures and race rules. Further information, official maps, results and photo galleries are available on the event website.
