20th Run for Cancer Research

The 20. Lauf für die Krebsforschung will take place on 10 October 2026 at the Unicampus Altes AKH in Vienna and is organised by MedUni Wien. This campus-based run is a fundraising event in which 100% of participant proceeds are directed to cancer research projects administered by the university. The event forms part of the Wien läuft initiative and marks the 20th edition of the Krebsforschungslauf. Participants of all abilities are invited to take part in a community-focused day of running and fundraising.

Rather than set distances, the event uses a round-based challenge in which one round is described as one mile, and the 2026 target is 30,000 rounds. A parallel Distant Run allows participants to contribute rounds remotely during the week, extending global involvement. The page highlights corporate supporters including Boehringer Ingelheim, Roche, Kühne+Nagel and Amgen and cites previous totals such as 46,239 rounds in 2025 with additional sponsor contributions.
