Middle of Lake Annecy — boat transfer from Esplanade du Lac, Saint-Jorioz
The Xtrem Triathlon is the flagship Xtrem distance of the AlpsMan festival, staged around Lake Annecy and centred on Saint-Jorioz. The race features a sunrise, boat-start in the middle of Lake Annecy and a long mountain route that links the lake with the summit of the Semnoz. The course combines an open-water swim, an extensive high‑alpine bike leg and a marathon run that offers either a summit finish (TOP finishers) or a lakeside finish in Saint-Jorioz (LAKE finishers). The event is presented as an extreme, XXL triathlon and forms part of the AlpsMan weekend programme on 6–7 June 2026.
The official race page and programme describe multi‑day logistics including bib collection, a partners' village, mandatory transition bike drop, shuttles to the Semnoz finish and a Sunday prize‑giving ceremony. The 2026 edition is aligned with the French Triathlon Federation (FFTri) licensing rules; non‑licensed athletes may be required to take a Pass’Compétition when registering. Entrants register via the AlpsMan registration hub (NJUKO) and places are limited; the organisation warns courses may be altered on race day for safety. The event is promoted as an iconic Alpine challenge emphasising dramatic scenery, substantial climbing and an immersive festival atmosphere.
