The 23. Wormser Nibelungenlauf (Nibelungenlauf) is a two-day running festival held on the Rhine promenade in Worms, with the start and finish in the Nibelungenlauf‑Arena close to the Hagendenkmal and Kriemhilds Rosengarten. The event combines a community running programme with cultural activities under the banner “Sport & Kultur in Worms” and runs across a weekend of events on Saturday and the main races on Sunday. The course is officially measured by the DLV and uses clearly colour‑coded out‑and‑back routes for the half marathon, 10 km and 5 km races, making it suitable for a range of abilities.
Races on Sunday include multiple 5 km categories, a 10 km run (and walkers category) and an officially measured half marathon, with prize giving at the Hagendenkmal. The official rules and race schedule are published in the Ausschreibung 2026 and registration is handled online (runtix); key race start times in the Ausschreibung are Sunday morning (5 km 09:00, half marathon 10:00, 10 km and walkers 10:10). Entrants receive a finisher shirt, runner bag and a bib with an integrated timing transponder, and the event offers on‑site services such as showers and post‑race refreshments.
