Schönbrunn Palace, Schönbrunner Schloßstraße, Vienna
The Wings for Life World Run Vienna — Flagship Run returns on Sunday 10 May 2026 with a unique moving finish line format known as the Catcher Car. The event will start in front of Schönbrunn Palace on Schönbrunner Schloßstraße and is presented as the Vienna flagship for the global Wings for Life World Run. This is a charity run where 100% of all entry fees go to spinal cord research, and the 2026 edition features the start and event village set against the palace for the first time.
The course threads through central Vienna and along the Danube, passing landmarks such as the Naschmarkt, Karlsplatz, the State Opera, Hofburg and Rathausplatz before heading towards Danube Island and on towards Lower Austria. Vienna’s live flagship event is sold out, but the organiser offers an App Run alternative and voucher registration options for those wishing to participate virtually or at other locations. The format emphasises accessibility and community participation while combining a scenic city route with the novelty of the Catcher Car moving finish line.
