In front of Schönbrunn Palace, Schönbrunner Schlossstraße, 1130 Wien
The Wings for Life World Run Vienna is the flagship in-person city event of the global Wings for Life World Run and starts in front of Schönbrunn Palace. The run is a charity event with the explicit mission that 100% of entry fees go to spinal cord research, and it pairs a mass-participation city run with a parallel App Run option. The Vienna course is routed through central Vienna and along the Danube corridor, passing landmarks such as the Vienna State Opera, Hofburg and Prater before heading out towards Lower Austria.
The event uses a moving finish line called the Catcher Car so each participant finishes when overtaken rather than at a fixed distance, making individual distances variable. The Vienna flagship for 2026 is a sold-out event with a limited field and offers an App Run alternative for remote participation on the same global date. The organiser emphasises inclusivity (wheelchair participation is noted) and partners such as global partner Adidas support the charitable mission.
