Will Run For Ice Cream 2026

Will Run For Ice Cream 2026 is a 7-hour timed lap challenge organised by Saturn Running, scheduled for 5 July 2026 with a 09:00 start at The Last Hop in Staines-upon-Thames. The event uses a looped course along the River Thames and allows participants to complete as many laps as they wish within the seven hour limit, with official turn points at 3 km and 5 km to comply with UK Athletics distance rules. Distances range from a minimum 3 km up to recognised standards (half marathon ≈ 3 laps, marathon ≈ 6 laps, ultra 7+ laps) and a 50 km option is offered where age rules permit. The course is fully signed and primarily on well-made paths and tarmac, with a short grass section; road shoes are suitable year-round.

The event is positioned as highly inclusive and family-friendly, welcoming walkers and runners of all abilities and offering ice-cream themed finish medals plus distance pins for key milestones. Participants receive a standard goody bag (vegan option available), and there is an aid/drinks table at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan options. Facilities are basic: toilets are available at the venue, a non-secure bag drop is provided, and parking is advised at Bridge Street Car Park (TW18 4TP). Entrants are asked to be considerate of other path users as the route uses public footpaths and headphones are permitted.
