Trail des Ragondins

The Trail des Ragondins is a weekend trail running festival centred on Cantenay-Épinard in the Basses Vallées Angevines, following paths alongside the Sarthe and Mayenne rivers. The event weekend (Trail des Ragondins) offers multiple distances for adults — principally 32 km, 16 km and 10 km — together with youth races and a team biathlon. Races take place across Saturday and Sunday, with youth events and biathlon qualifiers on Saturday and the main trail races and biathlon final on Sunday. The course routing makes extensive use of riverside trails and looped circuits around the village and river crossings.

The event combines competitive trail races with a partner village and spectator facilities, and organisers publish maps, schedules and registration via Klikego on the official event site. Notable features include team relay options, a re‑edition of the biathlon events, and an active youth programme to introduce younger runners to the sport. The local association ASSO LA TRACE organises the weekend and posts photos and video of prior editions on the event website and social channels.
