The Wensum Way Trail, organised under Zig Zag Running, is a multi-distance trail running event held at Billingford Lakes near Dereham, Norfolk. The course is built around a 5.3 km out-and-back lap and offers a broad choice of distances from a 5k through to an Ultra, including a 15k and a Heavy Half Marathon variant. The event emphasises low-waste practice with a cupless policy, and it provides on-site base camp support including an aid station and included parking for participants.
Races run in start windows with main starts early morning (09:00) and a later 11:00 option for shorter distances, and longer distances use a multi-lap format (the Heavy Half is typically five laps and the Ultra typically nine laps). All finishers receive bespoke medals and some distances offer a Lucky Dip medal option as an alternative. The event prioritises a compact, spectator-friendly layout on mixed surfaces that include tarmac paths, grass and rugged trail sections.
