Ivinghoe Beacon (Ashridge Estate), near Tring, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom
The Ridgeway Challenge is an 86-mile (139 km) point-to-point ultra along the full length of The Ridgeway National Trail, organised by Runaway Racing. The race starts at Ivinghoe Beacon and finishes at Avebury, and offers a fully supported experience with GPS tracking, live results and a network of staffed aid stations along the route. The event emphasises self-navigation across historic trails while providing robust on-course support and safety services for long-distance runners.
Runners have a 28-hour overall time allowance and access to mid-race drop bags, route GPX files and an athlete guide with detailed maps and checkpoint information. The Ridgeway Challenge is limited to a small field of entrants to preserve trail quality and participant experience and includes partner support from National Trust and outdoor brands. The event is presented as a challenging but well-supported endurance experience for experienced trail runners seeking the full Ridgeway route.
