The Frison Roche Trail (French: Le Trail Frison Roche) is an established mountain trail weekend organised every summer by the Ski club of Arêches-Beaufort in collaboration with the local Tourist Office and the municipality of Beaufort. The event for 2026 is scheduled across the weekend of 1–2 August and presents multiple race distances to suit juniors and experienced trail runners alike, including 7 km, 17 km and the long 42 km route. The race is presented as a long-standing Savoyard pedestrian competition with more than twenty years of history, drawing on local volunteer support and community partnership.
The courses traverse high alpine terrain of the Beaufortain massif and offer sustained panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc massif, Roc du Vent and the Pierra Menta. Notable route features highlighted by the organisers include dramatic gorges and the Himalayan-style footbridge over the Poncellamont gorges, lakes such as Saint-Guérin and proximity to emblematic dams and ridges. The event is aimed at runners who wish to combine a technical mountain trail experience with spectacular scenery and a traditional local finish-line atmosphere.
