Sudenburg Run

The Sudenburg-Lauf (tagline: "Der Lauf mit dem Lächeln") is a community-focused neighbourhood running event in Magdeburg organised by the volunteer group Verein Sudenburg-Lauf / Sudenburg Bewegt. The event emphasises participation, local spirit and enjoyment of running across all ages rather than elite competition. It is presented as a family-friendly festival of running with dedicated children’s races alongside competitive adult distances.

The 2026 edition is scheduled for 13 June 2026 with bib collection on the evening of 12 June and on event morning at Heinrich-Germer-Stadion. Race options include a 400 m children’s run, a 1.3 km youth run and competitive 4.8 km and 11.4 km races that serve as Wertungsstrecken for SRL MD and the EOC-Cup. The event is volunteer-led, includes pre-race number pickup and on-course support, and features award ceremonies for the various categories after the races.
