Heiligensteiner Kellergasse, Zöbing; finish at Heiligensteinwarte viewpoint, Austria
Sturm auf die Warte is a short, focused mountain sprint returning for its 8th edition in 2026. The race is billed in German as “Ein kurzer Bergsprint, der nur eine Richtung kennt - nach oben!”, emphasising a pure uphill challenge. The event attracts runners who prefer intense, ascent-only efforts and finishes at a prominent viewpoint above the town.
The course covers 1.7 km with approximately 130 metres of elevation gain, starting in Heiligensteiner Kellergasse in Zöbing and finishing at the Aussichtsplattform der Heiligensteinwarte (the Heiligensteinwarte viewpoint). The route information and yearly results archive are published on the official event pages, and the short distance makes the race suitable for both fast uphill specialists and local competitors. The finish at the Heiligensteinwarte provides panoramic views that are a key highlight for participants and spectators alike.
The race is organised by ULC Sparkasse Langenlois and the official event pages include registration, starter lists and an information section (Strecke, Programm, Anreise, Nachhaltigkeit). The homepage is currently available in German only; the organisers note an English version is planned and ask international participants to contact them via the event contact page for English information. Official registration and starter-list pages for 2026 are published on the event site.
