Berlin, Germany
The Steppenwolf Berlin – Usedom – Berlin (BUB26) is a self-supported bikepacking challenge that runs from Berlin to Usedom and back. It is explicitly framed by the organiser as non-commercial and not a race, emphasising personal challenge, solidarity and self-sufficiency. The event offers two selectable route variants — a more demanding Wildtrack and an easier Graveltrack — and includes three checkpoints along the route where participants may camp overnight. Riders are expected to carry their own equipment and to complete the route under their own power.
The 2026 edition is scheduled for 7–10 May 2026 and uses a lottery-based entry system with 150 starting places split evenly between the two tracks. At least half of the places are reserved for FLINTA* participants and the organiser promotes a climate-conscious approach, collecting donations for climate-justice causes rather than relying on sponsors. Exact GPX tracks are provided to participants shortly before the event and detailed start/finish logistics are published by the organiser closer to registration; entries are self-funded within the published guideline fee range.
