Freibad des SV Blau‑Weiß Bochum e.V., Wiesental Park (Wiesentalbad), Bochum
The Stadtwerke Bochum‑Triathlon brings swim, bike and run together in the heart of the Ruhr area, centred on the Wiesental in Bochum. Athletes swim in a modern, heated 50 m outdoor Olympic pool before heading onto a fast, closed‑road bike course that features the Königsallee and Wasserstraße. The run takes place entirely inside Wiesental Park on a traffic‑free multi‑lap loop. The event combines efficient logistics and safety with a relaxed, family‑friendly community atmosphere; rolling starts in the pool and a compact venue around the Freibad make the day welcoming for newcomers and experienced triathletes alike.
The programme includes individual and relay options across Kurzdistanz and Sprint formats, plus a Familientriathlon and multiple Schüler (youth) races. There is also a beginner‑focused Schnupper Triathlon. Chip timing is provided (loaned timing chips), all finishers receive a medal and there are prizes for top finishers. Practical details such as registration deadlines, licence requirements (a valid DTU start pass is mandatory for the Kurzdistanz; a day licence can be purchased if required), and category‑specific timetables are published in the organiser's Ausschreibung and Zeitplan on the official website.
SV Blau‑Weiß Bochum e.V. organises the race with support from volunteers and the City of Bochum. The organiser publishes final race‑day instructions to participants in the week before the event and runs information sessions for first‑timers to help newcomers prepare. Full event and registration information is available on the official website.
