St Peters Way Ultra is a long-distance coastal ultramarathon organised by Challenge Running Ltd that follows the historic St Peter's Way from Chipping Ongar to the Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall at Bradwell-on-Sea. The event covers approximately 42 miles of mixed terrain including muddy trails, farmland, village roads and a raised sea wall finish, and competitors are fitted with live trackers for family and race monitoring. The race is strongly safety-focussed with compulsory kit checks, compulsory tracker use and clearly stated cut-off/finish deadlines to ensure runner welfare on the exposed late-winter route.
The event offers four well-stocked checkpoints providing food and drink, optional bag transport from the start to the finish and organised minibus return services for competitors. Prizes include bamboo trophies for top finishers and all finishers receive a medal, while merchandise options such as T-shirts or neck tubes are available at entry. Entrants must be 18 or over on race day and entries for the 2027 edition open at the organiser's published price, with an early-bird reduction for the first entries.
