The Sparkassen Metropolmarathon 2026 is a two‑day, family‑friendly running festival linking the cities of Fürth and Nürnberg. The weekend features the Pillenstein KIDSmarathon on Saturday and the main programme on Sunday, with Sunday starts at the Julius Hirsch Sportzentrum in Fürth and finishes on the Nürnberger Hauptmarkt. Organised by Laufteam Fürth 2010 and Team Klinikum Nürnberg in partnership with regional sponsors and volunteers, the event emphasises community, varied course layouts and a festive programme.
Race options range from children’s distances up to the full marathon on the Fürth→Nürnberg route. Services include professional chip timing (TIMEMOTION), pacemakers for a range of target times, on‑course aid stations, secure bag drop, finisher shirts and medals (engraving option available). The start number also serves as a VAG/VGN public‑transport ticket for 13–14 June 2026 (2nd class). The organisers promote inclusivity and accessibility, offering reduced fees for participants with impairments and companion arrangements by prior notice.
