Salzburg Trailrunning Festival

The Salzburg Trailrunning Festival is the trail season finale in Austria, staged across Salzburg city and its nearby city-mountains from 23 to 25 October 2026. Over three days the festival combines short and long trail formats, family and kids races, and multi-day challenge options, with city-centre starts and finishes around Kapitelplatz and panoramic mountain routes on Gaisberg and Kapuzinerberg. The event is organised by G‑Sport / Mag. Josef Gruber and presents a mixed programme of races, side events and festival activities aimed at all ability levels.

Racing highlights include a Friday Nightrun through the old town, Saturday panoramic and fortress trails, and Sunday mountain trails such as the Salomon Gaisbergtrail; multi-day challenges (Trail Amadeus and the Trailmarathon) combine stage distances across the weekend. The festival also runs preparation weeks (Salomon Trailwochen), talks and award presentations, and links to official registration via Time2Win. The weekend is promoted as a city-and-mountain experience with route GPX, route descriptions and race guides available from the organiser for competitors and spectators.
