RACA1000 is the longest distance in the RACE ACROSS AUSTRIA North‑South series and follows a self‑supported 1,000 km route from Linz to the southernmost point of Austria and back. The course traverses multiple federal states and high alpine passes, with a total ascent given on the organiser pages as approximately 14,000 metres and the route highlights including several mountain passes. Participants are assigned to two start blocks (ADVENTURE and RACE) that differ by start time and overall time limit; logistics include numbered start packs, GPS tracker issuance and multiple base camps for rest and bag handling.
The event is delivered by the RACE ACROSS AUSTRIA (RACA) team and emphasises live tracking, media coverage and in‑person finisher recognition. Support on course is limited and the format is explicitly self‑supported, while organisers provide safety features such as a 24‑hour hotline and SOS functionality via the supplied tracker. The Linz start/finish site and named base camps form the event hub for check‑in, equipment checks and finisher services.
