The Bergsprint (officially "CLR Sauwald Bergsprint") is a single‑day uphill cycling event held on 14 August 2026 that brings several bike disciplines together on a short, steep climb finishing at Stadl by the church. Organised by CLR Sauwald and presented as a Rad‑Touristikveranstaltung rather than a closed road race, the event emphasises a recreational, community atmosphere while retaining official timing and organised start procedures. Roads are not closed for the event so participants must obey traffic regulations (StVO) and follow directions from officials and emergency services. Helmets are mandatory and athletes with an Elite licence are explicitly not permitted to start.
The programme on the evening includes a Gaudi Bergsprint (costume‑friendly fun category) plus Mountainbike, Handbike and Rennrad (road) climbs, with integrated chip timing in the start number and a winners' ceremony in the festival tent at 20:30. Pre‑registration closes on 11 August 2026 (23:00) with on‑site entries available until 30 minutes before each start; start numbers are issued from 16:30 at the start area (Straßenmeisterei Engelhartszell). Fees vary by category and registration date, and parking is available near the finish and by the local football field. Route maps and past results are linked from the organiser's site and course pages provide distances and elevation profiles for each discipline.
