Start/Finish: Belvedereallee / Lusthauswiese beim Lusthaus, 1020 Vienna, Austria
The PRATERBLÜTEN-LAUF (13. PRATERBLÜTEN-LAUF) is a neighbourhood running event organised by Laufen im Zweiten that takes place in the Lusthauswiese and along the Belvedereallee in Vienna during the chestnut blossom season. The course weaves through Auwald natural paths and short stretches of tarmac around the Fasangarten, Birkenwiese and Sulzwiese, offering a scenic, largely flat route suited to a wide range of abilities. Its location beside the Lusthaus provides easy access by public transport and nearby free parking for participants and spectators. The event emphasises community participation and a convivial atmosphere rather than elite competition.
The programme includes multiple categories with staggered starts, notably Nordic Walking (5 km), a children's run (Kinderlauf, 1 km), and main races of 5 km (including a three-person team classification) and 10 km, with prize-giving windows on the day. Online entry is available in advance and there are on-site bib collection times on the Saturday before and from 08:15 on race day, with tiered entry fees depending on registration date and a higher fee for same-day entry. The organiser publishes explicit start times and prize-giving schedules and the race is presented as part of the Leopoldstädter Bezirksläufe family of district races. Practical information such as detailed medical provision, bag drop or showers is not specified on the event page and should be confirmed with the organiser if required.
