Plymouth 10k 2026 is part of Cancer Research UKs Race for Life series and invites walkers and runners to raise funds for life-saving cancer research. The event is aimed at participants aged 16 and over and encourages people to take part at their own pace while supporting a fundraising goal. The 10k distance is chip-timed so you can check a personal best while enjoying a community atmosphere. Entry supports the charitys research work and participants are asked to meet a minimum fundraising target.
The course starts and finishes on The Hoe Promenade near the RAF Memorial and follows a double lap of a 5k route across paved paths, closed roads and Hoe Gardens. The route includes some steep inclines and uneven surfaces, so it is not suitable for wheelchair racing though the Hoe area itself offers wide tarmac paths. Organisers provide on-site refreshments and toilet facilities, and there are nearby public transport and city-centre parking options for attendees. The event is positioned as a fun, inclusive fundraising day with an emphasis on community spirit rather than competition.
