The Ötscher Trail is a multi-day mountain trail festival held at the Ötscher Trail Arena in Lackenhof am Ötscher. The weekend (12–14 June 2026) combines a mix of formats from a steep Vertical Race to an alpine Skyrace, a long Marathon Trail and shorter Speed and Easy Trail options, plus a Kids Trail for families. The event integrates regional series and national-level competition, with HERO and KING/QUEEN combinations and Austrian championship races included, giving both elite competitors and recreational runners a wide choice of challenges.
The terrain spans singletrack, forest trails, ski pistes and technical ridgelines with steep ascents and exposed sections on the Skyrace, and multiple aid stations and on-course support for longer distances. Organisers highlight the HERO and QUEEN/KING Wertungen as combined challenge formats that reward competitors completing multiple races across the weekend. The event atmosphere includes race briefings, packet pickup, carboloading and an after-race party, making it as much a festival weekend as a sporting competition.
