Mt. Everest Treppenmarathon returns to the historic Spitzhaustreppe in Radebeul for a weekend of extreme stair running. Competitors tackle repeated laps on a 397‑step staircase through terraced vineyards, building a cumulative elevation that echoes the height of Mount Everest. The venue’s unique architecture creates a technical, rhythm‑breaking challenge, while panoramic views over the Elbe valley add a striking backdrop to the effort. With places limited by the narrow course, early entry is encouraged for those seeking a place on the steps.
Across the programme, runners can choose solo or team formats designed to test both endurance and teamwork. The hallmark ascent delivers more than 88.4 metres of vertical gain on every lap, turning pacing and recovery on the stairway into decisive race skills. The event is presented as a shared community experience, with many long‑time participants returning to chase personal goals and support fellow climbers. Since its first running in 2005, the challenge has grown into a distinctive fixture known for atmosphere, grit and unforgettable finish‑line moments.
