Mountain Strong-8 Hour Ultra

This is a race that will run on the anniversary of Hurricane Helene, a storm that ravaged Bakersville leaving hundreds of thousands of trees down on mountainsides and in roads. As the town recovers from the storm, we will mark the anniversary of the storm with an 8 hour ultramarathon. This is a race you can walk or run, and has no set distance. The view from the course is one of devastation. All of the profit will be going to the Mitchell County Parks and Recreation Department to help rebuild the parks and the playgrounds.

Runners will have access to food and aid every time they pass the start line. Set up a crew station in the parking lot and bring your favorite foods and hydration for the race. Spectators are welcome.

Race Swag is going to be epic. There will be a long sleeved cotton tshirt for all runners, as well as a participants medal. Even if you only walk for an hour, or you run the entire 8 hours, you'll be given your race swag.
