Spitzhaustreppe (between Weingut Hoflößnitz and Spitzhaus), Radebeul
The MT. EVEREST TREPPENMARATHON takes place on the historic Spitzhaustreppe in Radebeul, Germany, a stairway that links the Hoflößnitz winery with the Spitzhaus and offers panoramic views of the Elbe valley. The event is built around repeated climbs of a 397-step lap (approximately 88.4 m elevation gain per lap) and is promoted as a challenge that can replicate the height of Mount Everest when completed over many laps. The race combines local heritage scenery with a distinctive vertical format that differs from conventional road or trail marathons.
The competition is a community-driven, limited-capacity endurance meeting that in 2026 will run as the 22nd edition across 01–03 May. The main competition, the Alleingang, is presented as the headline format (100 laps or a possible 24-hour option), while a variety of team and shorter formats such as Dreierseilschaft, Sherpa 25 and Annapurna 50 are also offered. Entrants are advised to consult the official Ausschreibung, Zeitplan and Preise pages for precise operational details, with registration for MTM 2026 opening on 01 August at 08:00 and early entry recommended due to restricted places.
