Upper promenade outside Beach Leisure Centre, Beach Esplanade, Aberdeen
Metro Aberdeen Beach 10k is an evening coastal 10k held on the Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen, organised by Metro Aberdeen Running Club. The event is promoted as a fast, flat and accurately measured promenade course that runs on the upper and lower esplanade with no road crossings, making it attractive to club runners and athletes seeking quick times. The race is chip-timed and offers prize money to top finishers and age-category awards, with a £200 bonus for the first male and female to break the Metro course records. Entry is by pre-registration only with a strict limit of 400 places and a waiting list when full.
Race day registration and bib collection are handled at Transition Extreme on the evening of the event, with a published registration window prior to the start. The course includes two water stops (around miles 2 and 4) and is exposed to coastal winds which can affect performance on the night. Metro Aberdeen RC has organised the Beach 10k since 2014 and provides licence and course information, plus a GPX/map via the official event and registration pages; refer to those pages for full entry, rules and logistics.
