Historic city centre, start at the second largest square in the Czech Republic, České Budějovice
The Mattoni Running Festival České Budějovice 2026 brings a full day of running and festival atmosphere to the historic city centre of České Budějovice. The festival features a certified half marathon as its headline race alongside a 5K, family mile, childrens' races and relay options, all routed through the heart of the town. Runners start at the city’s large historic square and pass numerous notable buildings, with organisers emphasising the unique atmosphere and spectator-friendly setting.
The event is organised by RunCzech and carries Mattoni as the title partner alongside several national and international sponsors, creating a well-supported race weekend for a wide range of participants. Facilities and services announced for the half marathon include chip timing, refreshment stations, medical support, baggage storage and post-race amenities, with optional extras such as official race shirts and race photos. With an edition number of 14 and an entry field shown as about 3,900 runners, the festival combines competitive racing with family and community activities.
