Pennington Flash Country Park (swim start); Bolton Town Centre (finish), Bolton
IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton delivers the classic 70.3 experience with a lake swim at Pennington Flash, a scenic rolling bike course and a two-loop half-marathon run that culminates with an electric finish in Bolton town centre. The event is promoted under the tagline “This is Proper Racing” and highlights strong volunteer support and spectacular crowd backing around the finish at Bolton Town Hall. Course pages and downloadable GPX/maps outline a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike and a 21.1 km run, with transitions staged at Pennington Flash and Queens Park.
General entry for 2026 is shown as sold out on the event site; alternatives include charity places via GoFundraise and IRONMAN Experiences (Nirvana) packages. The official schedule shows a race weekend of activities from 4–7 June 2026 with race day on Sunday 7 June and a self-seeded rolling start, and riders and athletes are directed to the Athlete Guide and Schedule for full pre-race information. Bolton is a qualifying stop for IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship slots and emphasises athlete services, on-course nutrition and a strong spectator experience.
