Hamburg Messe und Congress, Am Messeplatz 1, 20357 Hamburg, Germany — Start/Finish area: Karolinenstraße (Hamburg Messe finish area)
The Haspa Marathon Hamburg 2026 celebrates its 40th edition on 26 April 2026 and is billed as Germany’s biggest and fastest spring marathon. Runners follow a fast, largely flat sightseeing urban course (the famous blue line) through Hamburg’s most beautiful quarters, along the harbour and the rivers Elbe and Alster, passing landmarks such as HafenCity, the Elbphilharmonie, Reeperbahn and the Alster. An elite international start field is expected for the anniversary edition.
Organised by Marathon Hamburg Veranstaltungs GmbH, the event anchors a full festival weekend with a Marathon Expo at Hamburg Messe (Hall A3) and strong partner support including the Blue Line Club. Bib collection takes place at the Expo (Friday 24 April and Saturday 25 April 2026; times published on the event site). The marathon start is scheduled for 08:30 on 26 April 2026 and must be completed within the official six-hour time limit. The organiser provides professional timing (official pages and timing partner mika:timing / Mikatiming are linked from the event site), official event photography, secure bag drop, pacers, showers/changing facilities and accessible entry options for handbikers and wheelchair athletes. Aid stations, kilometre markers and first-aid points are provided along the route.
Course materials and participant information — including downloadable course maps, an interactive route, timetables, live results and traffic/closure guidance for residents and participants (including an interactive closure map and an organiser traffic hotline) — are published on the official event and timing portals. Registration is available via the official event site and the timing/registration portal. The marathon finishes on Karolinenstraße at the Hamburg Messe finish area.
