The Glasgow To Edinburgh Ultra 57 Miles (G2E Ultra) is a point-to-point ultra run from Glasgow to Edinburgh, starting at the Riverside Museum and finishing at Edinburgh Athletics Track (Saughton). The route follows the River Kelvin, Sustrans Route 754, the Forth and Clyde Canal, the Union Canals and the Water of Leith, offering long canal towpath and riverside sections with largely flat, fast terrain. The event is staged by GB Ultras and is promoted as a supported long-distance challenge with GPX route files and prominent route landmarks such as the Falkirk Wheel and the Antonine Wall.
Race logistics include live GPS tracking via GB Race Tracker, seven staffed checkpoints with water and refreshments, and strict timed cut-offs at each checkpoint; a finish cut-off is set at 22:00 on race day. GB Ultras enforces a mandatory kit list and a cupless policy, and participants are required to carry specified safety and lighting equipment. Dropbags are accepted at race registration and delivered to the finish, and live race results are published during the event.
Finishers receive tiered medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and bespoke trophies for top finishers, and the race forms part of GB Ultras' 50 Mile Slam/Grand Slam programmes. Entry and transfer rules, deferral options and exact participant limits are detailed on the official event page; 2026 entries were listed as sold out with transfer windows published. The event is aimed at experienced ultrarunners meeting the minimum age and kit requirements and is promoted as a well-supported, scenic cross‑country urban‑to‑city ultra.
