Erzberg Dirtrun is an off-road obstacle run staged on the Erzberg site as part of the Krone Erzberg Adventure Days. The course uses the distinctive mining landscape of Central Europe’s largest active iron ore mine and integrates natural mud pools, former adit systems and heavy‑duty mining equipment into the route, offering participants an experience that is unusual for typical OCR events. The event weekend includes multiple distances plus a combined Weekend Warrior Challenge that links separate races across the two days.
The programme across 11–12 July 2026 comprises a Fun 8 km on Saturday and longer Challenge (16 km) and Extreme (24 km) distances on Sunday, with up to 60 obstacles distributed across the courses and a strict rule that longer distances do not repeat laps. The event offers block starts for shorter distances, an Elite start option with GPS tracking, and bundled Weekend Warrior entries for competitors wanting to combine races across the weekend. Organised under the Erzberg Sport / Krone Erzberg Adventure Days branding, the event emphasises rugged terrain, varied elevation and a highly localised obstacle design integrated into the mine environment.
