Eroica Valkenburg

Eroica Valkenburg is a vintage cycling event that celebrates classic bicycles, period clothing and the heritage of the sport. The ninth edition takes place on the weekend of 5–6 June 2026 in Valkenburg aan de Geul and combines scenic rides with a festival atmosphere that showcases Limburg hospitality and local gastronomy. The event is aimed at enthusiasts of retro cycling and highlights historic climbs and atmospheric routes through the hills.

Participants can choose between two main routes that traverse the South Limburg landscape and feature notable climbs such as the Cauberg, with GPX route downloads available after registration. The event starts and finishes in Valkenburg town centre with Theodoor Dorrenplein as the main meeting point, and the programme includes route wayfinding, local food stops and a convivial village atmosphere rather than a traditional competitive race format. Visitors are encouraged to wear period clothing and enjoy the nostalgic experience that defines Eroica events.
