The Dunstable Downs Trail Half Marathon is a scenic off‑road half marathon hosted from the National Trust visitor centre at Dunstable Downs. Now in its sixth year, the event showcases sweeping chalk‑ridge views, steep climbs and fast descents across a single challenging loop that suits experienced trail runners and confident newcomers alike. The organiser provides pre‑race briefing materials and downloadable GPX/Garmin route files to help competitors navigate the course.
The route includes a full loop of Kensworth Quarry, out‑and‑back sections on the Downs and checkpoints around 6.7 km and 13.7 km with an aid station near 10 km; a finish‑line cut‑off is published by the organiser. Runners must carry mandatory kit such as a charged mobile phone and a reusable cup for aid stations, and all finishers receive a unique finisher medal while overall podium prizes are awarded to the top three men and women. Facilities at the National Trust centre include parking (National Trust charges apply), a cafe that opens after the race and a secure bag drop; participants are advised to confirm final race information with the organiser before travel.
